Figurative Language Posters and Super Words Revamped

Yesterday I decided to make some figurative language posters.  I created posters for the following types of figurative language: simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole, onomatopoeia, and alliteration.  Each poster consists of the definition of the term, an example, and a picture to go with it.  These are perfect for intermediate grade classrooms!

*Edited 12/5/13

I also have a Figurative Language Interactive Notebook in my store that complements the posters above.  It contains a ton of activities to use for the following types of figurative language: similes, metaphors, personification, idioms, onomatopoeia, hyperbole, and alliteration.

Recently, I decided to go back and revamp my first freebie ever (from March of last year)!  I am now selling this pack for $2.00.  It consists of definitions of the following terms: predict, compare, contrast, analyze, identify, infer, describe, summarize, and explain.  I am planning on hanging up these posters before our state tests to review their meanings with my students.

Giveaway and Mood Resources

If you would like a chance to win my "Writing Process Posters", as well as 15 other 3rd to 5th grade resources, check out Liv To Teach's 1000 follower giveaway

Also, I wanted to post about my newest TpT product, "Mood Resources" to teach students how to determine the mood of a text.  Check it out below.

Finally, I wanted to share some pictures with you from an author visit I went to at my local library.  I got the opportunity to see Margaret Peterson Haddix!!!!  I was thrilled to see her, since I have used some her novels with my students (all of which they loved).  And the best part of the experience was seeing how many students went to see her too.

I created my newest TpT product yesterday.  It's a pencil poster that lists steps to help students when they are answering short answer and extended response questions.  This poster would be great to post and refer to before state testing! :)
