Character Education and Grandparents Day Resources

Here are a couple of my newest products:

This is a great resource to use to positively reinforce students who possess and practice all star character traits. This set includes a poster, definition, handout, certificate and newsletter for each of the following 12 character traits (one/month): Kindness, Initiative, Respect, Patience, Cooperation, Citizenship, Perseverance, Fairness, Work Ethic, Compassion, Self Control, and Responsibility, a "Students Possessing All Star Character Traits" poster, and 12 pages of "frames" to put students' pictures and names on (for your students of the month).

Grandparents Day is September 9th, though you could use these resources anytime during the year!  This set includes includes an interview packet, a "grandma" acrostic, a "grandpa" acrostic, "Grandparents Help Us Grow" poster with craft, and a frame for students to draw a picture of one of their grandparents.

By request, I created an Owl Themed Behavior Clip Chart (see below).  This product complements my "Owl Themed Classroom" set.

I also recently posted matching, customizable monthly newsletters and calendars.  They are great for communicating with your students' parents and guardians!

Back to School Owl Craftivity

I just added a "Back to School Owl Craftivity" to my TpT store.  You can use this set to get to know your students (based on the writing prompts you select).  Once your students finish their owls, you can create a cute display them with them.  Another way you can use this craftivity is if you have an "owl star" of the week.  You could have your students complete an owl when it's there week, and they could share it with the class.

The Knot

This is sooOOOoooOOOooo cool!  My husband and I were selected to be an advertisement for Cavanaugh Photography.  The hubs and I are on page 187 in the current issue of The Knot Ohio.  We got married in June 2011, so we've been married for a little over a year now.  :)
We loved working with Cavanaugh Photography, and we were truly impressed with the quality and beauty of our photos.  Ken and his crew are so personable, and they did a great job of capturing each moment of our wedding in a creative way.  Cavanaugh Photography is based out of Berea, Ohio.  I highly recommend them if you living in the area!

Newest Products on TpT

I've been getting my classroom ready for next year (before and after pictures will be up as soon as I finish my classroom...which may take a little while...), and I have also been coming up with new ideas for teaching this coming year.  My most recent ideas have turned into new TpT products (see below).

I mentioned the first product the other day, but I didn't have time to elaborate on it.  It was very tired that night, so....My "Spicy Word Activities" set is a great way to differentiate your instruction of synonyms and antonyms.  The set comes with three different levels of synonym match up cards and antonym match up cards.  They are beginner/mild, intermediate/medium, and challenge/hot. I also wanted to come up with a cute activity for teaching connotation and denotation.  There are two different sorts students can do when studying those terms.  There are also posters for the terms synonym, antonym, denotation, and connotation, a"Spicy Words" poster with matching squares to write spicy words (great for creating a display), and student handouts!  The handouts include a "spicy words" list for students to fill out when reading and a "spicy word" graphic organizer for students to complete with a dictionary or thesaurus (Students will look for synonyms for their boring words-an optional "boring" word list is provided).

Today, I added two variations of  writing process posters.  I wanted to have some cute, new posters for my own classroom, so that was my inspiration.  One set is with Scrappin' Doodles' cute clip art, and the other set is owl themed (The Digital Bake Shop's clip art).  Each set contains a "Writing Process" poster, posters for the following stages of the writing process: prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, conferencing, publishing, and sharing, a poster explaining audience and purpose, and a checklist with all seven stages of the writing process!

You can put the posters together to create a display in your classroom. Students can put a clothespin (with their names on them) to mark the stage of the writing process they are on. That way, you can keep track of each of your students' progress!

Also, I am only three followers away from 200 on TpT!  I can't believe it!! When I started, I felt thrilled to have a couple of followers.  So, in the near future, I will be posting another FREEBIE.  I have no idea what it will be yet, but I wanted to let you know to keep an eye out for it! :)
