50 FOLLOWERS FREEBIE and a New Product!

I have 50 followers on TpT (Woohoo!), so I just posted a new FREEBIE in my TpT store.  If you have been following me on TpT or on my blog, you've probably realized that I've been making a lot of owl themed resources lately.  I can't help it, they're cute!  :) Anywho, I decided to post an owl themed freebie.  They're "Welcome!" and "Read" posters.  I hope you enjoy them!!  Also, don't forget, when I get to 50 followers on my blog, I will be having a contest to select one person who will win one of my TpT products (of his or her choice) for free! TpT Logo Designs

Did you see TpT's last newsletter? If you haven't, look at it soon!...The newsletter is promoting a contest to create a new "It's About Time" logo design.  There are a couple of ways to win some money.  The first is for the ten designs who get the most "likes" on the TeachersPayTeachers Facebook Fan Page.  If you are in the top ten, you can get $100.  If you create the design with the most "likes", you get a $1000 bonus.  Finally, if TpT selects your design for the website, you can earn $1000.  All submissions are due by midnight on April 28th!  Good luck!

Mother's Day and Father's Day Craftivities

Mother's Day will be here in less than a month (Sunday, May 13th to be exact)!  Have your students complete this adorable cupcake booklet to let their mothers know how sweet they think they are!  I also posted a similar craftivity for Father's Day.  Instead of a cupcake, it's in the shape of a baseball cap.  Students can fill out the attached pages to let their dads know why they think they are #1. Career Unit

Our state testing starts next week!  I have been using my "Getting Ready for the Test" materials with my students throughout the last couple of weeks, but I still can't believe it's almost time.  Over the weekend, I began to plan ahead for our next unit.  Yes, we do keep learning after the tests are over!  I like to do a career unit at the end of the school year.  It's a fun way to cover some research and communication standards, and it provides real world connections to what students are learning in school.  Students like this unit because they are able to pick a career based on their interests and skill sets.  They love to find out information about the careers they choose, especially how much money they can potentially make in the future :).  I went through the files that I have used in the past, updated them, and added a couple new files to create a career unit for TpT.

Whooo Doesn't Love Cute Owl Clip Art?

I am always looking for cute clip art for my TpT units.  Yesterday, on a whim, I decided to make my own owl clip art.  After a couple of hours of trying to figure things out, I finally created a package of eleven different colored owls in three varying forms: wings down, wings out, and a female version.  There are also optional ears that can be added to the owl graphics and four different branches on which you can perch your owls.  I made these files for personal and commercial use (see my Terms of Use-in TpT store).  I am looking forward to making some more clip art in the future.
